The Danish Siddiqui Foundation (DSF) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2nd Danish Siddiqui Journalism Scholarship. This scholarship, dedicated to the memory of the Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, aims to support and inspire the next generation of fearless journalists.
The 2024 scholarship recipients are Ishan Banerjee, Sakshi Srivastava, and Basit Gul Parry, all of whom are currently pursuing their Master’s in journalism. These outstanding individuals have demonstrated exceptional promise, dedication, and a deep commitment to the field of journalism.
Aliefya Vhanvaty, Senior Media Consultant and Head of the Selection Committee expressed her enthusiasm for this year’s recipients. “The DSF scholarship offers a rare opportunity to media students in the country to work on a contemporary project beyond the classroom and showcase their determination and creativity in pursuit of their goals. We look forward to mentoring and encouraging the next generation of journalists and together continue to live up to the legacy of Danish Siddiqui,” she stated.
The selection committee also included esteemed members Ruchi Kumar, an Independent Journalist, and Dr. Saumya Aggarwal, an Associate Professor at the Jindal School of Journalism and Communications. Their combined expertise and dedication ensured a thorough and rigorous selection process.
