Prof. Sabeena Gadihoke is the Director of the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) at Jamia Millia Islamia, one of India's premier institutions for media education. An acclaimed filmmaker, photographer, scholar, and educator, she has made significant contributions to documentary practice, visual culture, and media pedagogy in India.
With decades of experience in teaching, research, and filmmaking, Prof. Gadihoke's work has consistently engaged with questions of gender, identity, representation, and visual history. Her academic and creative practice spans documentary filmmaking, photography, and archival research, with a particular interest in the histories of Indian photography and visual media.
A distinguished scholar, she has authored and edited several important works on photography, visual culture, and documentary practices.
