Dr. Raghuram Rajan is an eminent economist, academic, and former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Widely regarded as one of the world's leading economists, he has made significant contributions to the fields of finance, economic policy, and global development.
Dr. Rajan served as the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 2013 to 2016, a period marked by important reforms aimed at strengthening India's financial system, enhancing monetary policy frameworks, and improving banking sector resilience. Prior to this, he served as Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India and as Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Rajan is the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. His research and scholarship have focused on banking, corporate finance, economic development, and international financial systems.
