The Foundation invites entries for the upcoming edition of the Danish Siddiqui Journalism Award 2026, instituted to recognize journalism that reflects integrity, courage, empathy, and a commitment to truth.
Established in memory of Pulitzer Prize–winning photojournalist Danish Siddiqui, the Award honors reporting that engages deeply with complex realities, upholds ethical standards, and contributes meaningfully to public understanding through impactful storytelling.
Jury
Entries for this edition will be evaluated by an independent jury comprising distinguished journalists and editors, including:
- Om Thanvi, Veteran Journalist, Writer and Critic
- Siddharth Varadarajan, Founding Editor, The Wire
- Suhasini Haidar, Diplomatic Editor, The Hindu
- Josy Joseph, Senior Investigative Journalist and Author
- Prof. Sabeena Gadihoke, Director, AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia
- Saurabh Dwivedi, Former Founding Editor, The Lallantop
Eligibility & Categories
The Award is open to journalists working across print, digital, photojournalism and broadcast. Submissions may be made in the prescribed categories as outlined on the Award page.
Submission Process
- Entries must be submitted only through the official application form.
- Recommendations or nominations from jury members are not accepted.
- Submissions are assessed through a transparent, multi-stage evaluation process.
